Discover our award-winning forest kindergarten

At our fully outdoor forest kindergarten, children learn, play, and grow immersed in the natural beauty of our woodland classroom. We follow the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, with experiences planned through the frameworks of SHANARRI, Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC), and Realising the Ambition: Being Me. These guidelines shape every aspect of our approach, ensuring that each child is supported, challenged, and celebrated as an individual.

Our outdoor setting provides endless opportunities for meaningful, hands-on learning. Children develop confidence, resilience, creativity, and problem-solving skills through real experiences: climbing, exploring, building, observing wildlife, and connecting deeply with the natural world. With nature as our co-educator, every day brings new learning driven by curiosity and imagination.

We are committed to high-quality early years practice grounded in Scottish legislation, national guidance, and child development research. Our practitioners create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, respected, and included—key pillars of wellbeing that guide our daily life in the forest. Learning unfolds through play, exploration, and child-led adventures, while also supporting essential skills in communication, early numeracy, science, and social development.

Our woodland is more than a place to learn—it is a community where children discover who they are, develop a lifelong love of nature, and build the foundations for future learning. We invite you to explore our approach and see how outdoor education can offer a rich, inspiring start to every child’s journey.
